Where did you go, use, etc. Maybe we can help. The bite is definitely better
at night. We fished directly straight from the pay booth on the left side of the boat dock. We threw everything at them you could imagine.... First time there so i emptied the entire tackle box trying to land something to get my $22 buck worth. Would have been happy with at least a bite, or something exciting to make me want to go back!

For the morning session, the trout are normally hunkered down, so I usually
bike around and throw a dropshot. Keep moving and if you're a dunker, try
different lengths of leader, baits, etc., but never stay in a spot longer than
45 minutes. If the fish are there than they'll bite either a dropshot powerworm,
lip ripperz, or nitro crawler. On rare occasions I have found that they only
want powerbait, but that is rare. If so, then all you need is green, white,
or garlic powerbait. Keep changing it up and once you get hit, key in.

If any questions PM me. Thanks for the info... But honestly i tried multiple options just like you mentioned above. I was using 2 rods one for bait and wait, Another for Lures, Dropshot, Jigging you name it! Covered just about a whole side of were i was fishing for nothing. I'm ready to head out to Guasti Park for what looks to be the same size trout as Santa Ana Skunk Lakes for 1/4 of the price!

Sorry 'bout the nut slapper. SARL can be really tough. Most folks throw over the fish. They're in really tight, wherever you can find 8 feet of water or so. That's usually only about a 15- or 20-foot toss, rather than a cast. They like a nightcrawler, pinched in half behind the yellow band and threaded onto a #10 single hook. Blow it up and fish it 16 inches off the bottom, with a drop or three of garlic oil. That works really well until about 15 minutes after the first direct sun hits the water, then they back of to about 10 feet deep, or a 30-foot cast. If it's overcast or cloudy, they hit in tight all day long.
Of course that doesn't cover all the bases, just two of them and home plate. The rest you have to make happen. Oh, and if you see them boiling on shad, either a worm under a bobber or a bait tossed into them is deadly.
Spots? Sorry, it took too long to find 'em. But finding them was a lot of my fun, and now I really enjoy the heck out of the place. Good luck!
BTW, Crave/Nitro/whatever-they-call-that-shiznit really sux, so don't waste your money on it. The scents are okay, but there are much better scent masks (Pro Cure).

yeah, i here ya. You know that they keep the fish in pens at the dock and let fish out on there own. They don't want the lakes overfished so they keep them in 4 pens, and you catch when they want you to catch. Kinda like a dirty @$$ casino, that wants money and recignition for the little they give.
That lake make bank off the people. People show up to those lakes at 1 1:30am in the morning and sleep in there cars or trucks before a stock. How do they repay those people who keep the lakes in buisness???? I'll tell you how, by regulating the catching of fish. LAME, and what are the people going to do, what they've always done, show up on thursday morning/ wednesday night, to get a shot at a lunker that's probably not in the lake. Then some person who's luck is on, gets a lunker, when he or she doesn't deserve it. But that's fishing right??? NO. Rediculous. Next time got to LNL and catch some good fish and up the odds on fishing a pay lake.
