Is fishing at the redondo pier good right now?

Hi everyone, I'm looking into making a trip to the redondo pier next week. Is fishing any good right now and what can be caught. This will be my first time fishing at the pier and the tackle that I'm going to bring with me are spinning set-ups ~6lb and 12lb. I pretty much have the essential terminal tackle and some jigs to go along with it. I've done some research on the web and found that mackeral is the most prolific species there. Is there any other fish that is also prevalent? Small perch or sculpin? Any info is appreciated, thanks.
