Crabbin' question

I need help; I'm planning on hitting up Newport pier for some spider crabs soon and I need to see if anybody knows- do you need a lobster punch card even if you are not going after lobsters. As far as I know there are no lobsters around that pier. I've found the regs to be a little confusing on this Reg. My good buddy Roasted Bluegill he though yes you do, but I'm open to any feed back out there!

No you do not need Lobster Card to hoop for Crab. You need a Lobby Card to hoop for and RETAIN lobster. Though, keep this in mind, if you are hooping for crab, and you happen to get a legal lobster, you will be kickin yourself in the rear if you dont have a Lobby Card. It's only $8 or so, 1 legal lobster pays for it twice.
