went out to for a couple hours with my tubes and it was pretty slow...i guess its still a little early for those slabs but with the hot weather coming up its looking good for the upcoming week...i ended up releasing all the females gils/redears that had eggs and ready to explode....i kept a couple for fish fry

this was one of the couple that came home with me

I'm just wondering why the crappies down here in SD spawn so much faster than the ones up further north in SoCal.

Can't be that much of a difference in water temp...can it?

Big difference in temps. Our warmest reading yesterday was 57.3 degrees

Mike gave up all the informaton you need to go find em. That's how you fly when you spend all day hunting for fish. Do you tell everyone exactly "where" you caught em?

The body of water would be nice............sheesh, simma down dude, I'm not gonna run out over a couple fish and fish out da honey hole, just tryin ta monitor action everywhere, anyone who wishes to find solid action should be doing that and plan properly, the smart ones monitor things over a period of time not 1 report.

Thank for all those other details, those are great but not as essential as the body of water.

Not trying to diss the post, just kinda trippin on the comments above, a simple question of water is all it is....it's a big lake...no one asked the particular spot..

I too spend all day huntin fish, and all night many nights..
Calm down man, it's just early season slab fishin..
Everythings gonna go hog wild soon enough.

i have no idea because i dont have any electronics to find out the water temp or have the time to figure out the structures....i fish blind all time and never depend on any electronics......all i know is when those crappies gets in my way i make them pay for it...lmfao!!! GO GET EM' Guys!!!

Thanks, I wasnt looking for any specifics, just the lake that was it.

I do know how to nail the slabs already, I've fished 'em for many many years but this info is helpfull to those who dont know but again all I sought was the lakes name...that was it.

Thank you,
Gary
