rich: thanks for the invite and the expierence. will go down with you to baja any day
vic & juan: what can i say always a pleasure fishing with the homies. definatly not our last.
joe: good to fish with u again man...it had been awhile. hopefully not the last.

day 1
well where do i start...the homie vic picked me up @ 3:15 in the morning and loaded
my gear into the car. then off to get the homie juan. loaded his gear and off to seaforth
landing. got there around 6am and juan got a phone call from rich that ofg and onyx some
how got lost..so he had to go rescue them. we decided to hit up this spot juan had heard
for breakfast. good choice. the chorizo & egg burritos was goood!!!! the salsa was weak.
after that we headed back to the landing. decided to go into the tackle shop and who did
we see, joe and adir. joe was getting some line on his reel. so looked around and picked
up some last minute stuff (8" MC slugs) i didnt even use lol. owell. then finally everyone
else arrived (rich, ofg and onyx). intro's where done for everyone who didnt know each other
and what the agenda was gonna be. after a few people got some grub for the diner there we
were off to the border. rich got thru first. then us. unfortunatly joe got stopped. heard
adir was crapping his pants but i will let joes fill u in on that lolll so we just followed
rich with no problem. joe knew what he was doing and caught up to us. so on the way down to
ensenada we stopped at this one spot to stretch and see all the tuna pens they had in the
water they sell off to japan and whoever else. fattening them suckas up. so then we headed
into ensenada to gas up and drain the system for the rest of the way down to SQ. funny thing
about there bathroom there is if u had to take a dump u had to pay for the toilet paper lolll.
to bad no one took a pic of that. so after everyone did what they had to do off to SQ...we
finally get to the turn off (dirt road) to where we are gonna stay. all i can say is that
road sucks. vic had fun going fast on tha road til he hit a big rock lolll but we finally made
it down there. checked in, had a complimentary beer, and put all our gear and bags in our room.
after that went to the launch area where we would fish and paid our remaining balance for the
fishing. so after that we where hungry. so besides rich, adir and onyx (they went to scope
out some surf fishing spots)...the rest of us went to eat. should have known when seeing no
one is the place we ate wasnt a good sign. just 2 young girls who gave us our drinks. so the
chef/cook finally showed up cause he was at the market as he said and told us what he could
make. he gave us this menu and vic decided camarones diablo. which came with salad and some
kind of strawberry cirtus dessert. overall there was nothing diablo about the dish. it wasnt
even hot as in warmth, like it had been sitting out for awhile. so after that meal vic, juan
and i decided to try a lil fishing off this wooden pier they had. unfortunatly not much was
caught except a 2ft sand shark i got. so after that we went back to the room to rest and a
couple hours later we went to dinner up the road @ jardines baja. all i can say is that was
some great food. the pictures will speak for themself. thanks again for finner rich. really
appreciated. so after dinner and being seranaded by the guy with the guitar we headed back to
the hotel. the 3 amigos ended up going to the room getting our gear ready and then knocking out.
day 2
fishing day!!!!! we woke up at 5am, got all our gear that we got ready the night b4 and put
it in the car. after the rest of our group was ready we headed to the pangas to unload. it
was far but who wants to carry the coolers, rods, tackle bags and more over there. so we all
got on our pangas by climbing up a ladder and one by one they launched the 3 of us into the water.
we then headed to make bait. boy was it foggy. that damn marine layer was thick. so we finally
get to the spot and dropped our sabiki's to catch macks (was for nothing due to our bait rolled
to the air filter system not working). so we made our bait for i would say a good 15-20 minutes
if that and then time to head to our first spot. so as we are taking off about a minute or so into
the ride all asudden you see a whales back show up out of know where. if he hadnt swerved who knows
what would have been the end result. also wouldnt have wanted to be in the water that day due
to we heard and saw i would have said a 3+ foot great white dorsal fin out the water. what a site.
not something you see every day. i wish i would have gotten a picture but it happened so fast,
it was gone. so we kept going and going not knowing where due to the marine layer and finally he
says ok..so we dropped our lines in the water. i tried out my ling set-up 12oz bullet head with
a mc slug in white for nothing. so i decided to go ganion fishing. this spot i would say was a
honey whole on whitefish. it was white fish after white fish. i ended up catching my only lingcod
also there. so we did that for awhile on spot to spot around this area. then decided to try and
find some YT...all we ran into was alot of bonito. boy these where in the 5+ class or bigger. we
all lost our share but caught a good amount too. so we did that until we had enough and it was back
to more RF. more whitefish!!!!!! lolll juan & myself brought them up 3 at a time. i can just imagine
if we had the 5 hook set-up. so we told the pangadero we wanted reds...so that what he did. it took
us a couple moves to find them but when we did they where big. we only found a handful due to we had
to head in. next time its gonna be just reds and lingcods for rockfish. white fished out lolll so on
the way in know the sun comes out and u get to see everything we couldnt going out. saw alot of whales,
birds, and coast line. u just had to see it to get the whole expierence. so we finally get in and see
joe and adir getting there fish filleted. so we chit-chat with them waiting for our guy to get the
fish off the boat and bring it to the station. so we told the guy what fish where ours since we decided
when fishing that when we caught one had the tail clipped, dorsal clips and top fin. he didnt seem to
get it so we had to keep an eye out for what fish he was filleting. wasnt easy lolllll so in the end
we just divided up the fish ourself on how the fins where cut and told him this pile is mine and this
pile is theres. i liked that he filleted the fish in kinds of fish so it made it easier to pack away
and put on ice. so after that gave him some $$$ for the fillet job and off to the room to relaxxxxx!!!!
after a lil nap or trying to it was off to don eds for the clams which where highly talked about. a
very nice call rich and joe. bonito ceviche & sashimi where off the hook. that soup was good too. i
think i ate enough this trip for like 4-5 people lolllll food was too good. they how to do it in baja.
so after dinner we all headed back to our rooms. the 3 amigos again knocked out. oh yea cant forget
juan kept saying he was cold all the time at night.
day 3
so hard to say goodbye!!! well vic and juan got up b4 me to try some surf fishing. i got up about 15
or so minutes after they left. they said they tried to wake me but i was out like light. so at first
when i went out i couldnt find them so i walked around taking picz of the bay and other things. finally
found them on the pier but nothing was biting so we all went back to the room. then on the way back we
saw joe and ofg where up so we decided to see if don ed's was open cause some of them wanted coffee. but
a nice breakfast sounded good. chilaquiles were definatly good and the hot cakes with some oj (sunny-d).
so after that back tot the room got all our stuff together and packed. the rest of the group got up and
got some breakfast too. so while we waited we went and bought some lil souviners for the ladies back home
since we where gone for a few days. so after all that we take our group picture and off on the road. it
felt alot quicker going back cuz u kinda knew where u were going know opposed to going to SQ. so after
we went through ensenada we decided we were hungry. first place was closed..good thing cause we all wanted
some tacos which the 3 amigos hadnt had yet. so we saw a sign that there was a place down the road...juan
was in the back flash your lights!!!!!!! he better stop. so rich saw the lights, waved and we ended up stopping.
good choice cuz i enjoyed the carne & fish tacos along with the carne torta to go along down with some jarritos.
so after that we all headed to the border. after there it was basically our seperate ways. we got stopped
at the border cause they had to check our fish cooler. dont see why its just fish. not fruits and other
stuff i know you cant bring in. joe had the same thing happen to him but we had taken off already and on
our way home. basically got back into town around 11pm due to not more than a few miles way and accident
had the freeway closed on the 405. but we got home so no worries.
it was a great trip fellas and gal. great expierence and definatly look foward to doing this again with
you all.
