I have done best with Power Bait and/or inflated nightcrawlers. I have never done well with lures.

3/8+ oz Kastmasters at Big Bear dam. Not because they catch more fish, but because there is something therapeutic about slinging a lure 100+ yards over and over again, lol. Sometimes I'll even bring a bass rod and throw a 3/4 oz. The dinks will usually leave it alone if you are using a big one. The big holdovers on the other hand...

My favorite way by far is trolling or tossing lures and if all else fails and if i have to use bait then so be it .

Whatever the bait/lure used, my favorite way is on an ultralight rod and 2lb test line. I prefer tossing spinners, spoons or flies at them, but the lighter and more sensitive the equipment, the better.

Flyfishing using flies that I tied myself on a stream that usually has no one around!!!. its great not to have to fish elbow to elbow with someone!!

any kind of plastics on 2lb. test whether it be mini jigs, trout worms, or mini jerk shads. I like the artificial stuff
