I just bought a used 2 stroke from the mid 80's that probably needs to have the carbs cleaned. I am a total noobie at such a thing, so I just wanted to know how easy it is, and what are some things I should look out for being my first time. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I am very familiar with changing the impeller and lower unit oil on these things so if you had question about that for a Suzuki 2 stroke, I could be of service.

Exact model is Suzuki DT40 1985 model.

try not to lose the "extra parts" they'll go fit somewhere...J/k.

I don't know about suzuki but i cleaned the carbs on my 85 force o/b and it was

somewhat easy if you buy the carb kit and take your time. My 96 150 johnson has

a service plug and i hooked a can to it was super easy.

Thanks for the advice. I did buy a carb kit, hopefully it comes with some sort of instructions.
