Really quick!! Got to Lake Perris with my son at about 10am!! Got there I was all excited today cuz no one was at the booth. Anyway got to the launch ramp I asked some guy why no one was at the booth? He said you got to pay so I went back and paid my $16.00. Searching for big blue gill but no luck Fished Alessandro Island nailed a 2 pound LMB on a mealworm!!! Sweeet:Envious: I didn't expect it to be so hot bout' 90 degrees. Water clarity slightly stained . From what I observed not much action from other anglers. Too hot stopped fishing around 1:00 pm! Any Lake Perris panfish specialists out there?? When does this lake start giving up the those blue gills in the 1-2 pound range?? Any way!! That's all folks!!
Tight lines!!:Big Grin:

I was out there yesterday and both days last weekend and got a few gills every day. The gills are holding deep right now. Yesterday I got all my gills in 50-60 feet of water off the dam using night crawlers and crickets. I also hooked a dink bass on the crawler. There are out there, you just have to find out deeper and wait it out. Every single gill I got these last two weeks have be fat keepers around a pound. If the hot weather keeps up the gills will be moving to the shollow water in numbers soon. Let's hope it stays hot.

I have had no luck on the crappie but a few more weeks and things should pick up. By April it should be good on Crappie and I believe Redear but I think the gills start spawning last.

I've found the best action for 'gills at Perris to be late in the afternoon just as the sun is setting out by the dam. Float crickets with only a swivel's worth of weight on ultra light line and see if you can find some croppings to fish around.

Good Luck

Thanks for the response!!

NETDAWG: Yeah left early. We got off the water by 1pm. I was going to go to the dam area. I heard the gills were holding at about 50-60ft of water. We had crickets too. I was fishing 5-20ft of water by the island and east end. THanks for the tip bro!!

CJS: I am super looking forward the crappie bite to go off. Thanks for the info.

ANNEX 138: Yeah I was looking for the big pounders to two pounders. I was too shallow. Deep is the way to go at this point. THanks for the 411 Bud!!

Thanks guys for the information!! I let it heat up and look out for your posts and head back out for those pounders!! Until then Tight lines!!!

Thanks for the info. Be sure to pay the parking and luanch fees every time. Ive seen the ranger roll up on cars just checking for the permit. And its an expensive ticket.
