I posted a few days ago asking which is better, and ended up at Newport Landing(there fish counts were the highest). Found out yesterday it was the rockfish opener and knew it would be crowded, which it was. TODAY WAS MY 1ST SALTWATER FISHING EXPERIENCE, and I LOVED IT!!!!! I only caught 2 fish, 1 rockfish and 1 perch(nice size) all in all it was kinda slow for us, I dont think anyone caught there limits. Def cant wait for another trip and Im ready to catch some big boys!!!! Ill try to post some pics later..

Wasn't it a gorgeous day out there?! I was on the same boat with my 2 boys. I nailed 2 wall perch, 3 starries and 1 square spot.

Where were you on the boat?

Thanks for the report. I was out on the City of Long Beach today and fishing
was sub par. Most people had like 3-4 fish total. Lots of small ones. One kid
caught a 10 pound boccacio and I ended up with 8 assorted fish and 2 4-5lb
bocs. The weather was beautiful.

I was there with my father in law, and brother in law. We were hanging out most the day on the side with the enterance into the galley, but fishing that same side from there up to the front of the boat.. We had a bunch of same rock fish..
