The winning fish weighed 9 lbs 12 oz.
My boyfriend and I got in line a little after 6:00 am. We arrived at lot 8 at 7 minutes until 7:00 and set up in a spot I would not have considered ideal, but it worked for us. I had the beginnings of a cold, but we had both been looking forward to this since last month when I caught a nice one over 2 lbs and the boyfriend got the skunk. I armed myself with sufficient snotrags to get me through the day. He was here to redeem himself. I caught the first one and he caught his not long afterwards. I used powerworms and he used nightcrawlers. We each caught one today. They were both 16 inches; mine was 1 lb 11 oz, his was 1 lb 5 oz. There was a lot of snow in the local mountains left, so I got a shot of them as well. All in all a good day.
