Just got off a 3/4 day on the Sea Watch from Seaforth. Great weather - sunny, no breeze and 1-2 foot swells. Excellent crew! They were out until midnight yesterday getting us live squid to fish with. This is the best bait! Fished 5 miles mile below Point Loma for a few drifts then a few drifts off the Coronados. On some drifts, needed 12 oz and other drifts only 4 oz. We only had 13 passangers on the boat including a father and son team who had to catch a flight back to Wisconsin, so they didn't keep any fish. The kid had the biggest fish (8 pound salmon grouper) but wasn't in the jackpot.
Our reported count was: 11 Whitefish, 12 Vermilion Rockfish, 1 Sheephead, 3 Sculpin, 16 Sanddab, 87 Rockfish.
It was good fishing with the boys from UCSD Medical Center...
