Got a spot on the charter of the Orange County Kingfishers on their overnighter out of Pierpoint. Nice group of guys. Got to the landing and got a parking spot right away in the "up front " numbered parking zone, also found a cart right away for our gear. Things were already looking good. We got there around 6:30 but the boat didn't get in untill 9:30. Once we got on board we found they had chovies, squid and dines...no bait reciever stop  The weather was the best I've seen this year, dead flat with just a little bump. The fishing was even better then a few of my Mexico cod trips. Very shallow ( 80 to 200 feet) great bite on the jigs and the small iron tipped with squid. We only made one move, later in the day, to the Ling spot. My buddy Gerry got one of the better lings, a 12 lb fish. http://fishingnetwork.net/images/tmp2/12lb.ling.jpg
The JP was around 16 lbs. Chris got a 5 lb. red http://fishingnetwork.net/images/tmp2/Chriswith5lbred.jpg
I got a very nice 6 lb red on the small iron http://fishingnetwork.net/images/tmp2/6lbRED.jpg
We had full limits- It was a great tripmade even better by the steak dinner the club sponsors on all their trips....
