Just thought I would post a few more pics from a fun filled day with some really good people. I am admittedly not a frequent Sarl patron, but I hafta say I really enjoy having Team57 gatherings there and after the great customer service and personalized touch we received I am going to make sure they get more of my business in the future. The Sarl crew was out there setting up tables/canopy/bbq too I believe, at first light and as most of you know dumped in a fresh batch of fish for us to catch...I just got the feeling they were willing to bend over backwards to accomodate our needs and make this the best day possible. I am still amazed at the amount free gate passes, 1/2 off passes and free boat rentals that were given at the raffle :EyePop: I cannot say thanks enough Sarl.

Report and some pics...

Got to Sarl a little shy of 5am knowing full well there would be plenty of room for all of us at Chris's Pond, apparently I was supposed to give some sort of pre-game speech cause my cell was blowin up by 4:15am! Met up with Bullets as he was camping amongst the redwoods adjacent to the line of cars and threw all his gear in my truck before we headed to get our wristbands and eventually to the 1st spot of the day.

Howstar was fishing next to us when I took this shot at dawn, nice seeing you and your Pops at the lake Howard....sorry your better half could not make it this time around.

While talking to Doctorhook, Timster and crew I saw this guy waiting patiently for the right time to go get breakfast!

Bullets and I got no love from the fish there first few hours, while Fisherman101 managed a fish or two....Eddie was camera shy at the time  sorry I missed the photo op buddy!

We were in great company with Koshaw "the 12 foot rod wrecking crew" to the left and further down to the right was BoxLobster and his gf Michelle, thanks for the morning warm me up for the coffee cup! :Big Grin:

I was not sure if Bullets was baiting up or eating breakfast when he busted out the canned weanies, but quickly found the fish were getting none of the "beanie weenies"

I like fishing with the 91 at my back especially when the mountains are covered with snow....

The Godfather and "Don" Donna making their rounds...thank you again for all of your efforts in making Friday happen guys.

Sometime around 9am there was a mass exodus from our area as Doctorhook and his posse followed a hot tip and headed to the opposite side of the pond....we followed suit just to try and change our luck a little and get a chance to chat with some more people at the event. About an hour in Bullets decided to lay down in the dirt and get cozy next to Bruce Watson and Olfishergal when I noticed one of his rods doing the dance. I thought we would miss the bite as Greg was about 2 miles away and I was standing near our vehicles at the top of the hill. Only as a result of my "lightning" quick actions was the hook set on the crawler inhaling beast. I pretty much knew right away by the way it was fighting, it was not the right kind...none of the trademark initial run like a trout does, more of a dogging/head shaking tug, I'm thinking cat or carp and it turned out to be the latter. I do give it credit though as it dragged me down the opposite shore as Greg raced to his pole....nice job on the net homie!

This is going to make Liteliner's mouth water!

This past Friday marked the 1st time I got to fish with the Rob the Rooster himself....granted it was only for a few casts as he pitched a jig along the shore! Did you get your Dodger jacket from your wife yet Rob?

Headed over to the potluck for some lunch and the Team57 raffle, what a good time that was! Everyone left with full stomachs and a bunch of goodies...lures, passes, rod/reel combos, rod holders and shirts just to name a few. Thanks again to all the sponsors and generous people who made that happen!

Good stuff...

MvW had his trout limit by lunch while I was still skunked
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj285/troutdog_photobucket/SarlFeb2009016.jpg

After lunch Binger and I headed over to MvW point and I finally punked the skunk with a little lightning action...powerworms and eggs did the trick for me!

I got another shortly thereafter and thought I would pose "bass fisherman style" on this one  J/K guys!!!!

All in all it was a great day with great people...

On a side note the passing of an "icon" must be acknowledged, but a new one will be born as "Levitz Corner" is now officially "Voit Corner"
