I took my new to me aluminum boat out for the first time to perris to find some gills. Got to the lake and in the water around 9:00. Tons of bass boats all over today. I only seen one fish caught and it was about a 3lb. large mouth and the dude put it on a stringer and kept it.

My buddy and i were after gills and did better then most. We ended up trying all over the lake. Around 2pm we found a spot near the dam and hooked in to some fat gills. We only ended up with 10 total but everything was a good size. Everything was caught on drop shotted crickets.

My new boat rocks. I picked it up for $200 and put about $300 into it to get it running. Engine needed a new impeller and the trailer need some work. Didnt leak 1 drop in about 7 hours. The little outboard is older then me but still runs great. I think i scored on this deal. I am heading back out there again tomorrow. Maybe i'll hook into some more.

Casting off around 9. It was a little chilly on the water this morning.

This is the only picture i took of a fish. This was the smallest fish of the day.

Yup, heard the guy was in a float tube and caught it on a water dog!!! ROFL!!!!

Good job on the gills. A $200.00 boat is better than NO boat!! OR standing on shore! And it doesn't leak?!?! Score! Thanx for the post.

I spent another day on perris looking for some more bluegills. Only got 3 and missed a few more. Lots of bass boats on the water again today. I think there was some kind of tournament going on. Still too early for the gills to be out in force. Maybe in a few weeks it will pick up.
