My wife has been pretty sick the last couple days so I stayed home from work today to watch the boys and let her rest. I asked the boys if they wanted to go to NPH. Anthony said he would stay home with mom so Aaron and I headed out. We arrived about 1130 just before low tide, which I knew was not the greatest condition, low tide, middle of the day. After a few times of me casting and Aaron retrieving, he told me we should go home because there were no fish because it is winter! After a bit of bantering we continued fishing. Aaron finally hooked up on a fish. I though it was a big spottie but I was wrong.

Turned out to be...

Gotta be kidding....A very rare Midshipman. Not so rare as far as I am concerned, I have caught two before this in less than a years time in NPH.

Aaron and the fish, it was a big one. He was not thrilled to see the teeth.

On a Sexy Smelt BH to say the least.

That was all we got and we left at 1500.

Wow that's a big one. My wife pulled one in the boat and it really wanted to bite someone, was the big one as mean?

Wow! that thing looks pretty gnarly!

I was at the bay from 4:00pm - 6:00pm today fishing the south side near the coastguard station. got quite a few short bites, managed to land one short calico and one nice spottie (around 15inch). The weather dropped quickly, so we decided to head off.

Thanks for the report Eddie :Thumbs Up:

Aaron,

Nice job on the Prehistoric Fish/Eel/Snake from the harbor. I can best describe those critters as an Eel with the head of a Ling cod.

Not many of fisherboys can say they have caught one of that species!!!!!

Time to man up boy and throw the pliers aside for the photo and thumb grip it though!!!! Joking!!!

Awsome and what will you pull off for your next trick?

Good catch. That does seem like a nice size speciman. Hope that Aaron has learned that some times it just takes a little longer then others but the fish God always like to see little ones with some bendo action!

those things are gnarly. It's even crazier when you catch em at night, they flash like a christmas tree sometimes.
