After sleeping through my alarm, rushing out of the house, and doing all my water/smokes/sandwich shopping at am/pm in Valencia, we still made it on to the water around 7:30. not a whole lot of boats out. Most of the traffic was around the dam (which i never have luck at anyways). I was surprised how low the water was. the creek was all but dried up.

We trolled around Rapalas, and Saro caught 2 nice trout back to back.

then a whole lot more trolling.

the rest of the day we tried for bass or blue gill. not one bite. Saro even busted out the Barbie pole.

around 2pm we decided to troll the spot that Saro had caught his fish in the AM. right away Kemper hooks up.

all of us were pretty burnt and decided to call it a day around 3:30. as we pulled up to the dock, the gentleman that works there let us know that DFG just dumped a gang load of LMB. The kids were having a field day catching them from shore.

Nice report!

Sounds like a fun day out there and not a bad sized trout either.

Just curious...I've never been there, is that a rental pontoon?
If so, what do they hit you for on a day rental?

yes it is a rental. they recently replaced all their pontoons with new models. they have fish finders, live wells, cd players. $170 for a full day. $8 to park.

Did you say a "gangload of LMB was PLANTED by the DFG?"
I find that amazing as I never heard of them doing that with LMB.
I still dont believe it....dam..I hope I'm wrong that would be sorta cool.
