WooHoo!! Thank you Fisherman57, Dana, for organizing and putting on such an incredible event for the Team 57 family! It was an awesome day out with plenty of sunshine, incredible people, good food and a day of fishing. It was such a pleasure to get to meet and put a face to so many of my "electronic" friends that I seem to only know over the internet.
Here are some random pics from the day and then I'll follow up with a report from the day and evening of fishing we had.
Here's a pic of Troutdog fighting his first fish of the day!

Unfortunately it was not the double d trout that he was looking for! At that point in time I was thinking that maybe he should be re-named Carp dog (hey no mixing up the letters in carp!) but Bullets was already giving him his grief for his catch so I kept the name to myself....until now!

Ladyfish and Yamafish working the grill for all the hungry Team 57 fishing people! Thank you for all you guys did!

Yama and Ladyfish again but this time at shore side. Between working their booths at the events and helping out Dana it's amazing that they have time to fish! Thanks for the rod holders, Yama and Lady, they rock!! I appreciate all you did and continue to do!

The bite was not wide open but people were still hooking up and catching fish and having a great time!

My nephew was the 1st one to hook up for the day. He got hit early on a nitro cralwer (what else? )

This was a great fish that my nephew hooked into on the big lake during the night session. He fought it for quite a while before it snapped his line. He got it close to shore and it looked like a 4# to me. He also hooked into another toad that was stripping line off his reel like crazy that got broken off too....didn't see this one but guessing by the fight he would of had his PB had he been able to land it.
Again it was a great day spent with the Team 57 community and I was very appreciative of being able to attend my first event of many to come. Now a little more about the fishing. As I mentioned earlier the bite was a bit slow on Chris's Pond during the day. Both my nephew and I got our skunk off by 7 in the morning (yes both trout were caught on the nitro crawlers) and were hoping that the early hook ups were a sign of what was to come for the day but the fishing Gods were not going to cooperate. I got one more bite on the Pond but not until very late in the day......probably about 3pm. I did like the fact that it was a lightening so at least I had a rainbow and the lightening for the day and started to feel like we could still catch some fish during the night session. Talked it over with the nephew and we decided that we stay for the night session as well.
We picked up and moved to the our regular spot on the big lake and settled in. I sent the nephew up to pay for the evening shift after we tossed our lines and grabbed a beer to relax with. Before he gets back I get hit on mini ultra light and it's on! Landed a small Lassie bow but to me it was a sign that things were going to be good during the night. The bite was wide open for me from about 430 until about 9 pm when I hooked into and landed 7 more fish and missed the hook set on a couple more bites. Ended up with 4 lightening (including the one from earlier) and 5 rainbows for a total of 9 fish for the day. Unfortunately the fishing was not quite as good for my nephew, Stoned Head. He didn't have many bites during the evening and lost the only two that came his way. I have to admit tho that both fish were good size and he would of had a great night if even he had been able to land just one of those last two fish. We both had a great time however and are both looking forward to more Team 57 events. All fish were caught on the nitro crawlers and most were caught on short leaders (about 8 inches) although we did get a couple on 18 inch leaders as well. The water was murky and was actually in worse condidtion then it was on Wed evening. The bubble hole was on all day and was running pretty hard during the evening so I'm thinking this may have been churning up the water a bit. Hopefully the clarity will get better soon and fishing can get back to a wide open bite for all!
Again Dana and Donna, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for a great day out at SARL.
