The girls got into the action too.

She's got more skills than I did at 10!!

When it warmed up we took the 'yaks out.

Carp City! I could see at least 3 in this pic.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q168/toadfish5/IMG_2224.jpg
Found a closed off inlet across river.

First time putting my Kayaks in freshwater And first time I had a passenger... So took advantage of the autopilot.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q168/toadfish5/IMG_0820.jpg
When everyone went out offroading...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q168/toadfish5/IMG_2163.jpg
...D and I decided to do some exploring of our own.
Got some news that there's been some Striper below the PV. Diversion Dam.
Met a cool Game Warden Who took us to a hidden launch spot in the middle of Nowhere... when he left I got stuck in soft sand(should've paid extra for the 4wheel drive!)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q168/toadfish5/IMG_2180.jpg
Tried to make the best of it by doing a 'lil fishing, but no luck the current was ripping!
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q168/toadfish5/IMG_2185.jpg

Several hours later Her family came to the rescue and pulled us out.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q168/toadfish5/IMG_2199.jpg
Bad weather moved in, but we put on some rain gear and faced the cold.
It definatly paid off.

Once it got worse I was on my own.
Fishing in the rain pays off somtimes, here's a few of many that night.
Used almost two whole bags of senkos I bought In Parker AZ.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q168/toadfish5/IMG_0834.jpg
Had to walk back to the house for this one. (By the way ALL the bass this weekend were released alive).
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q168/toadfish5/IMG_0828.jpg
Scince everyone went back home early plus it was warmed up,
D and I decided to paddle downriver.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q168/toadfish5/IMG_0849.jpg
We fished a few spots and I tried getting rid of my farmers tan (both w/ NO luck).
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q168/toadfish5/IMG_0844.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q168/toadfish5/IMG_0845.jpg
Drifted for a couple miles, spotted 2 cars, seen ppl get out w/ rods but didn't see 'em fishing the riverside.
launched in, climed over and found a huge pond on the AZ side.
Must've been Indian land.
Totally unprepared for TROUT we used bass rods and HUGE spoons I brought for Stripers.
(the pics DO NOT do justice these were some nice fat trout peeling baitcaster drag on8lb!)
Met some weird Indians who gave me the 3rd degree. But they were cool once I gave them some fish.

Besides The mishaps of getting locked out of my car, getting Stuck, having the girls lose a whole box of lures,
and forgetting all my plastics at home...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q168/toadfish5/IMG_2153.jpg
It was a pretty good weekend.

Great time you had at the river. I saw some spots on the river that look familiar. I have a place at Paradise Point north of Blythe and some of your photos look north of that but south of Lost Lake. Am I close or far off?

Thanks. I would love to get some big flathead there. Fished cat a little, NO luck. The current was too strong. Used a 4ozER and my weight went straight down river. Plus too much moss gets on you line any suggestions?

Deanhall32 your about right... 4mi S. of Lost Lake.

I think it actually DOES mattter where you fish 'smokey25'
Thought it would be cake, but it was kinda difficult at first. Once I got a feel for the spots, and the currrents it was cool. If I was by myself and didn't have to tie and unsnag and untangle every 5 min. I woulda tore it up. But it was nice getting the girls on some fish.
One thing you should be aware of is rising waters. The inlet in the backyard in the 3rd and 6th pic was 3' max and visually fishless when we arrived on fri.... it was 5-8'+ on tues. Ran into a few local fisherman there, all had no luck that weekend, but one guy said the river's lowest on thurs. he got a few bluegill one day and said the bass are toad when it heats up.

Yeah Dude looks great to tube-it. (not too shallow and alot of reeds but a couple nice open launch spots right off the road.)
Only fished trout there for like an hour, but one of the Indians said they stock catfish seasonally too. and looks like bass territory.
He said they call it 'The NoName spot' I called it 'wideopen'.

It looks like it was to much fun. But you know that black rod you are holding in your hand, thats the reason you cought all this bass.
