Got a new patch on the tube and took it out to Silverwood for a test on Sunday. Windy day but worth the effort. Stripped streamers for a real good trout bite in Cleghorn, caught 8 trout. Most were a little smaller than they have been but real healthy fish, quite a few jumped like crazy after they were hooked. Caught one on a new fly my buddy tied for me, olive punk perch, with the rest coming on a black wooly bugger as usual.

Now that would have been a real good day in my book but I received a bit of a surprise with one fish I caught. As soon as I hooked it I knew it was a better quality fish, multiple runs and fought it for several minutes. Eventually we settled into a tug of war, he went deep and slowly I was able to coax him up. Trout don't usually fight that way??????

Saw color and thought, cool striper, fish tacos! Not a striper though, a nice 4 lbs. LMB on a black wooly bugger!! Caught on 5X tippet full sink and 5wt St Croix with Orvis Mid Arbor reel. This is the second 4+ lbs LMB I've caught at the Wood on this fly and setup, although the other one was in the spring, didn't think I'd get one in the dead of Winter on a fly.

Boy was he good, LMB fish tacos, eat um up yum!!!

Joking, LMB was released along with most of the trout.

Nice job. The bass must have been a hell of a fight.

BTW, I think I saw you out on the tube in Cleghorn, but I wasn't sure.

The fish didn't jump? Bass usually always do and that's when I loose most of my larger ones!

I was there I started at the marina and started walking toward the two big streams in cleghorn, most of the streams Have trout, I ended up with 5 trout. I might have seen you if you were the one on the other end toward the cleghorn parking lot
