The Good is I have a backyard that is so close to enjoy and due to the recent rains there is a nice volume of water flowing for the first time since this time last year!!!!

The Bad is that in a 4 day weekend I could only manage to step out of my door and fish my backyard and the higher flows have allowed the little Natives to spread out and were tougher to find today!!!

The ugly is that every one and their brother, sister, kids, and Dogs, as well as a lot of fellow folks looking for the DFG Stockers that were supposed to be in the canyon on this Sunday!!!!

So much for my normal peaceful trips in my Backyard.

Any way ventured about 10 minutes up from my door and fish for an hour for 3 natives and a lot of missed hits on the egg setup.

Here are a few pics of the nicer looking stream and the fish!!!!!

That is it from my Backyard for this trip and hopefully DFG will come through to satisfy those who wish to hunt the Stockers as far as I can tell you there were none for the taking that I could see and I have been working the canyon for 20 + years.

Good Luck all!!!!

I should have been stream fishing with you instead of being in the surf today, might of saved me a broken rod.. and heart.

Nice fishies Steve. Sorry to hear your spot was being raided!
Looks nice and clean back there anyways.
Crazy what a little rain will do to the creeks eh?
The fish tend to hunker down a bit when the silt kicks up.

Some of those stinky gulp earthworms will help pull the stubborn guys out in harsh conditions but I tend to crimp my barb when I use those because they'll go for broke! wacky hook'em on a lil #12 mosquito with a split shot 6" away and you'll be surprised some of the bigun's you'll yank from a tiny crack in the ground.

fished your backyard today. muddy, rainy. caught a couple dink wild ones (3 inches). buddy of mine lost a nicer 11 incher at the net though. other than that, dead. not a single stocker in sight, even though the dfg website said they were putting em in, the phone line said they were putting em in, and the person at the office i personally talked to said they were going in "for sure."

just dont understand man...why make false promises?? dont know whats been up with the dfg lately. a lot of shady business.

LOVE the place though. always beautiful. i know better spots though if you wanna try for wild trout. bigger, feistier bows, and browns. ive caught fish to 21" in some of the spots. ive been fishing some of the spots i know for 8 years and seen about 3 fisherman the entire time....so pretty much you have it to yourself. about 15-20 minutes from my place (La Crescenta).
