Perching in SantaMonica

I made a last moment decision to drive down to LA for the weekend. I asked my brother if he wanted to tag along and hit "hakaveli's perch spot" for some perching. checked the tide chart and high tide was at 12midnight...dam...oh well...decided to go anyway. Hit up pauls for some ghost shrimp and i was off to the first spot. "haks spot" produced a few big prego surf perch. After the bite died down a bit...i wanted to see whats up at the MDR jetty. First thing i noticed at MDR was a big bulldozer/backhoe looking thing...wth? and it had some pipeline leading to the end of the jetty. We made our way to the jetty and thought it would be a better idea to fish the surf instead of the jetty. Made a couple dozen casts for nothing but a bunch of salad and sea bags. we threw the rest of the ghosies into the surf for good fishing karma and called it a day.
