Hello FNN'ers!
I am looking to get a new rod and reel for fishing so cal inshore areas. I mainly plan on fishing harbors such as Marina Del Rey and King Harbor for bass but i would also like to try fishing halibut with LC's. Hopefully there is a rod and reel set up that fits both of these techniques. My last set up was a Shimano Cardiff 400 paired with a Shimano Clarus 8' 10-20lb salmon rod which i wasnt very happy with. The reel had bad freespool and broke down often, and the rod wasnt very sensitive at all. I mainly ended up using it for fishing sculpin on half day boats. So, are there any combos in about a 150-200 dollar range that satisfy those requirements?
