But of the wrong kind!!!!! I was swimming a Storm "swimbait" about 2 foot under the surface in 5 foot deep water when this giant carp hit. I was convinced that I had a double digit LMB. You can hear me yelled: "HOOOOKed UPPP" from accross the lake to my friends.

Anyway, it was a very good fight on 8lb line and the fish was kinda pretty. It sucked in my swimbait. I did NOT snag this fish.

Man that is one healthy looking carp. Nice job dude! Personally A carp of that size is better fighting than a LMB of that size.

that is a healthy looking beast, but i've got to see the LMB you tussled with that was that size. it would have to be pushing 20lbs if not more.

It was probably a bummer when you realized it wasn't a bass.... Carp are pretty fun to catch though

Yes, a little but this isn't the first time. Last year, while yo-yoing a rattle trap, I snagged a carp, maybe 10lbs or so, in the tail. It was after dark, and it jumped liked a missle making a giant splash.

I was convinced that I hooked that fish of a lifetime when he just peeled line off for some 15 seconds. After 3 minutes or so, I realized that there aint no bass that strong that was hooked properly. By this time, the fish was a good 75 yards away, still pulling drag on 10lb line. It reminds me of a foul hooked barracuda that has the whole boat screamming: " Yellowtail".

Thanks to all with comments and kind words.
