wanted to findout if anyone knew where to catch macks.....becuase I'm heading out with my dad and some friends for fathers day fun...so macks would be good. To them, as long as they catch then were good..so please help!! Also what type of bait and setup would help plenty.

balboa pier had a bunch last wed. on sabiki(sp?) rigs. guys at the end of the pier had the most luck.

I agree!! Balboa was good to me the last 2 times I went for the macks. I brought home about 28 total to freeze for the catfish season. Use either Sabiki rigs or just take your line put a 1-2 ounce weight on the bottom and the make 2 or so drop loops about 8-10 inches apart above the weight. Put a hook and short leader off each of the drop loops and bait em up!!! Experience has shown me that the end of the pier is best and so is afternoon time if the red tide hasnt made its way in yet!!
