nice setup! One question, does your reel make a lot of noise when casted? Something like a buzzing sound.

Ummm....I haven't really noticed I only casted it a couple times in the yard before I went to work. Still haven't got the thing wet!! But I didnt notice any kind of odd noise.

St Croix are great rods. Someone mentioned the Triumph as American quality, Its truly is and its the only rod they mass produce in Taiwan! The Triumph is basically the same as their Premiers, which I love, except the Triumph uses a matte blank without glass and slightly lower end components. In any case, an excellent choice.
Ive heard good and bad about the TD. I love Daiwa, but there has been a fair share of negative chatter about this reel. If it starts having problems take it back and buy a Daiwa Black Widow II or Trillionaire from Tackle Warehouse. Solid reels and based off the old Advantages that kicked so much ***!

Hey thanks for the info. The reel seems like its built pretty well, hopefully I made a wise choice. We will see soon. The rod seemed like a great deal, I have heard good things about St. Croix and for $70 bucks I couldnt pass it up. The dude that helped me out said he had a couple of the triumphs and has worked em pretty hard with no problems.
