Panfishing AND trout. I have a 500 Sedona that is old but much loved and used. The 500 series is the best small stream/ high country reel size, IMO, and for years it was difficult to get a high quality reel other than some of the older Sedonas in the 500, though the Daiwa Spinmatics are not bad. Now I can upgrade my Sedona. With a 500 series setup and another for something more along the lines of 1000 size, one has the perfect setup to fish any trout water

yeah, we caught/picked-up an old man who fell over some rocks when we were fishing  Other than that, the bite was DEAD. There were no signs of life anywhere.

Very nice 500 reel. I stil have my good old Daiwa 500C, what can of line did you spool up the new reel with?

I have a nice Shimano 500 series reel paired with an old 4' Ugly Stick Jr. I actually caught some nice bass while panfishing at LNL. 4 lb test and some sweet fighting.

Seng, try not to let a PWC rider run over your line and pull this one into the lake as well.

that's definately the right size for 2lb. i like the symetre 750 for 4lb. they make more drag than you'll ever need.

750 for 4lb? What kind of line are you using and how bad is the memory?
Just wondering because I get quite a bit of memory using 4lb on a 1000
reel.

well, whatever floats your boat. have you looked at the us reel spinners? i think yo zuri hybrid ultra soft probably has the least memory of what i've used. pretty strechy though. i don't fish much four anyway, not a trouter. i have a sustain 1000 i fish 6lb seguar invizx on for green ones and i handle the twist pretty good. i know some guys are about the 1500 size even but i think they're a little heavy unless you spend $.
