Always a pleasure to fish with you Lucas. I took like 5 pics of you bro....What happened? You only got a pic of me on the report!
Even though I'm 29 years older than you I feel like was are brothers in the surf. Not to mention you ALWAYS keep me smiling throughout the day. Glad you got you first legal (23") of 2009. If you don't mind .... I would like to elaborate just a little more on the day. I'm sure most people want to know about the two scars on the 24 incher. We figured that a harbor seal must have had it in it's jaws but it got away. The wounds looked real fresh and she didn't fight like a 24" legal flattie. She was probably going to die soon but I released her to die in the sea. I felt that it was the least I could do for a girl who fought for her life and got away from the seal.
The other highlight of the day was sight fishing the hali's between the boilers at low tide. That was sick bro!
Lot's of shorties today also but we killed it for sure. I can't wait until this spot REALLY goes off. It should be epic and we are getting an early start. Hell..........34 days into the new year and I've got at least 15 shorties and 5 legals.......I feel so blessed already!

P.S.

Your backyard is sick........I'm sure that if Arthurs Baby visited Dino....They would frolic in the natural saline pool and shower in the waterfalls. Of course the jaccuzzi would be the final stop! She might not want to go home.....LOL

Just kidding Wingnut

Awesome job Pirates! When Mike called me today with the fish report I was totally stoked for you guys. It's nice to see the Hali bite starting to heat up again... in certain spots anyways. :Secret: Mike, slow down... give Lucas & I a chance to catch up! :Envious:

Lucas, no fair... your pool is bigger than mine.
Tell your Pug Deno that Wingnut Pug says it's a doggy date!

Good job on the halibut! The bite is surprisingly good for this early in the year. Hopefully the lousy weather this week won't mess up the fishing too much. Those bite marks are really interesting too.

Bones,

Good job on those fish, glad to see that you got back in to them again. If the this weather would have held through the weekend I would have been out there pounding the sand (and rocks) looking for fat buts.

Also my dogs were asking about the pool party..

If you don't mind me asking a few questions what type of weight and hooks would you use? I'm new to drop shoting so I gotta ask the newbie questions. I'd like to try for some flatties myself soon. Also that kinda looks like a double A plastic you used there, was it? Well I suppose any decent plastic could work as long as your in the right spot. Not sure what the surf conditions are lately but with all the rain we're getting it's probably a bit choppy out there. I gotta go check it out.

Hey for the hook 1/0 or 2/0 DS hook depending on the size of the bait I use a 3/8 oz DS weight tie a knot leave the tag 12 inches long run the line back threw the eye of the hook going down and we are using Flukes and berkley baits.Good luck
