Anyone knows that there is no such word as Trouts. Its just Trout. Thats it.

Yup. A co-worker always says feets lol. I sometimes want to tell him that feet is already plural but nah...

For some reason it bugs me that people say trouts. Feets is just as bad.:LOL::Wink:

TROUT is plural if you are referring to more then one of "one" species..
I caught 7 Rainbow trout today!!!
(not trouts)
If you however are referring to several trout of different species it is 'acceptable' to say TROUTS for the plural...
I caught 3 trouts (yes trouts, Species) from this river..

Either or. "Today, the trout is pan-fried in butter." referring to all the trout (plural) being served as a collective.
So we have plural trout or trouts, “the latter used when referring to multiple species” or the like: "there are 4 trouts in the river system", so not very common.

What are you talking about? If you are talking about how they pronounce it. I have never heard anyone call a Bass(fish) a Bass (pronounced base as in sound).

"TROUTS" yes its a bar in the "08"....the dale part of Bakersfield. Im sure we have guests here that frequent that fine establishment!

Well You have BASS and BASS both spelled the same but pronounced differently. If you are refering to the fish its pronounced BAS but if you are refering to sound its pronounced BASE.
Im not sure what you were talking about either. Wether you were talking about pronunciation or what?

I hate to say it, but there are a lot of people here that seem to have dropped out of elementary school. Please be advised there is no such thing as "hitt, cought, bouy, aquaduct" and that's just to name a few. Hey, I fish a lot but at least I was able to get through school without writing like Jethro...

We had this discussion on trout a few years back here.. I was prepared this time..:ROFL:
But I have to say, it always rubs me wrong also when I hear or see "trouts", and so many other things on the internet...
If I was in HR at a business, and saw some of the mistakes made here on an application, TRASH !!! Not a chance!!!!!!!
Sometimes First Impressions are the 'only one' you get!!!!!!
Same with appearances.....
Thank god I have speeell chuck on Firefox that corrects my spelling on the boards... :Cool: :LOL: :Embarrassed:

For those that don't have spell check on the internet you can always type your post in Word and then spell check it and then cut and past into the thread...Just a tip there.
