I'm done spending for a while... my paycheck was used for one single item! Oh man.. what did I do. I'm broke, dead broke, I mean down to the CORE!

But you got a good reel right? Everytime you use that reel, it pays for itself! I never bought junk equipment, so I never had a problem with any of my gear. Now as far as wearing down equipment, that's a different story!

Nice reel. I have one and I love it. Pair that thing up with a G.Loomis GLX casting rod and you have one of the lightest setups out there.

The color scheme of the Core is sickness.

I say you upgrade the handle for a Bassart or a ZPI, and throw in a Yumeya spool!

I see you found the Yumeya spool, although that's the 'vertical jigging' model which comes with ZERO cast control mechanisms.

I was referring to the lighter, shallow (non PE) model:

Add the ZPI or Bassart aftermarket handle, and you've got yourself an interesting little reel.

I was 2 seconds from picking up the Core, but ended up getting the MG7 for a great price. Not many differences, except the ball bearings inside the knob handles, and the color.

It's a nice reel. I got an awesome deal on it, or else I would've went with the Core, since the color scheme is more my liking.

I've tried the DC versions of Shimano US reels, and honestly, I'd rather use my thumb to control the spool, than use a microchip. My thumb saves me about $200 that way.

I am a proud owner of a Calcutta TE DC 200. I also got a killer deal that I couldn't resist. I can cast a flylined Senko a mile or two in 50 mph winds, burrito in the other hand, and chatting on my bluetooth. It does what it says it does, faster rpm.You still have to thumb it, but not as much which translates into farther casts. However, you can't pitch with this reel without getting backlash here and there, due to the faster spinning spool, or is it just me.
