Once again, very nice detailed report Ron, thank you. I think they call that fish titled "Beauty" a Red Irish Lord. I guess they are rare this far south but I was on a boat out of Dana Point when someone caught one, and DFG confirmed that it was exactly that. Pretty cool looking fish!

Good job JR. I have to give you props for doing your thing with the plastics and sticking with it. I kow I would be switching over to bait if I didn't catch anything for an hour.

Hi Jackpot Jimmy,

Thanks.

You may just be right. The deck (very knowlegable) was calling it a Cabezon but personally I thought it was a bit long on the body for a Cabbie !! I've caught them where their mouths were like .... 1/2 the size of their bodies. ALL MOUTH.

Shoud have taken a closeup with all the color and patterns. Two trips two cool fish.

Hi supasportkid,

Thank you for your great reports and the kind comments ... as always.

The Outdoor Channel has everything outdoors. The VERUS COUNTRY 267 (free) wth the basic package of Time-Warner also has a mix but I suspect has past seasons' segiments.

Fishing in the City .... with Ike and all the old standards is great !! I watch these programs daily. Gotta be 25 or 30 fishing programs through the week.

Hi daveg456,

Thank you much.

They say ....... the older one gets ..... the less important bagging fish becomes in the total experience. Not eating fish ..... unless it's sushi and being too lazy to make the dishes .... I've lost that desire. Right-headed or not ..... everything is the challenge of fishing and hopefully catching desired species with plastic ONLY and staying put in the position on the boat I've chosen for the day. I do not chase fish around the boat so that adds to the challenge ! :) :)

Await your next trip and its' adventures,

JapanRon

Hi AmbassadorHawg,

You're quite welcome. It's great stuff to share with guys that gotta deal with the every-day grind and not-so-fun-stuff and know it's appreciated. Know you'd rather be fishing !!

Hi Liteliner,

Appreciate your continued following. Worked hard when it counted and got an earned retirement. Hope everyone is as lucky as I am and am able to fish as they please after their work life is done.
