Bad news first!!!! I got snaped off by a brown that was atleased 20in. +!!!!!!! And when i say snapped off i mean my rod!!!!!!! And short after my line broke!!! Guess i wont use a 2wt up there anymore!!!! Now the good news. We killed it to say the leased, we prolly caught 75+ fish a piece, and most were of decent size. The fish in this stream have some crazy *** colors! All fish were caught on the usual elk heer caddis!!!! Enjoy the porn!!!!

Those are some incredible fish!

If you don't mind answering, could you tell me how you found those stream locations? If the answer is a pair of hiking boots and a map of trails then that's cool. I just enjoy stream fishing, and, since the closest I have come to what it's like in Mammoth is Piru creek, I would like to try some others.

Thanks man! 8 miles isn't bad for a round trip. I was seriously thinking that fish like that would need 15 miles round trip minimum.

Beautiful trout man! It's about time I see trout being held correctly by considerate fishermen! Gently held in wet hands means a great survival rate. Thanks for sharing the cool pics!

 That's sweet! (but still sucks though!) broke a 2wt from a fatty brown.
What rod were you using? Must have been a battle!
Don't you find it hard to set the hook into the bigger fish?
