Castaic Stripers 1-23-08 Stripereye & OffTheHook

[Off The Hook]

Well myself and Stripereye decided to try Castaic today in the rain for some stripers. We got to the lake and it was pouring rain. Luckily by the time they opened it had moved on and was actually a very nice day. We got to the first spot and landed a nice 8 lb striper on the home made plug. We only saw a couple boils all day and we were asleep at the wheel for those. LOL. After moving spots I hooked into another fish that went 7 lbs also on the swimbait. Nothing big today but these fish were very fat. There were a few bumps here and there but they just wouldnt take it all the way. All around pretty slow but it was fun. It was a blast fishing with you stripereye. We will have to get out there again soon to catch some big ones. We were off the water by 9:30 which worked out perfect because it started raining just after that. Good luck.

Stripereye, told you that color would work. It was funny that when you started clowning on the color I hooked up on that same cast. Let me know what pattern bait you want to throw next time and I will paint one custom for you. Youll kick the skunk soon bro. You have the skills for sure so its just a matter of time.
