Since I lost the Spottie battle to my wonderful wife Sunday,I decided I need more practice fishing so after taking my wife out to dinner and a movie Monday for her Birthday, I met up with my Bro and we headed down to South Shores around 2200. We met our lil buddy Chase down there and we were on the water at about 2300. The plan was to hoop the rest of the night and fish Tue and maybe hoop again Tue evening.
Monday nights hooping was on the slow side, not sure why, but thats the way it goes, we ended up with two legals for all the effort. But the fishing was ok in between sets so that was a trade off.
Here's a few pics of the fish. (Here is your competition DUC!)

We pulled our last set of hoops at 0600 and headed over to Nachos to see what he had for bait.......it was 0645 when we got there and Nacho never came out or was not on there. That was fine as we only really wanted to get a half scoop of dines for future hoop bait. We headed down to Izors from there.

The morning sunrise and flat sea's. It was pretty nice.

Around 1100 we decided to make a move over to the pipe off Huntington and when I went to fire up the boat there was not enough juice to start her up even on both batteries. We had done some pretty long drifts and made only short moves maybe thats why. We hooked up our third spare battery and she still would fire???? WTF? So we messed around with it for a spell and decided we needed assistance and made a call to VA. The VA Captain arrived in about an hour and he handed off his jumper box and she fired right up.

After that we thought maybe we should call it a day and head in just in case we had more issues than we thought. So we headed back towards LB. The batteries were charging fine so we made a few stops on the way in around all the commercial lobster traps for nada. Once we got in the harbor we stopped and fised around Ilsand Grissom for nada. It was now about 1430 and we had a crew meting to decide our next move, either pull the boat out of the water and sit in traffic or stay and hoop. We all decided to stay and hoop so went over to Cherry Beach and Chase and Rich did a few drifts for Hali's and I took a very short nap. Not much happening over there.

At 1600 they woke me up and moved over to our hooping spot and got the gear ready. Chase and Rich got a couple Scullies while we were getting gear ready. The hoops we in at 1700 and pulled our first set a little after 1800. All blanks, not a good sign at all since this spot usually gives 4-5 legals in the first set. to make it a short story, we pulled at last set at 2100 and ended up with two more legals and a couple shorts, just was not happening for us. We were off the water at 2200 with 4 legal lobsters and a pretty decent morning of bass fishing. All fish were CPR.

Thanks for the report. The conditions sucked last week too. At least the fishing was better this week.
