NPH Spottie Battle!!!!!

Eddie and I have trying to get his wife Rebecca out into NPH on my ride for some time now ( 6 months ), But we could not get the schedules to align until yesterday.

Rebecca had not caught a spottie before last Sunday when Eddie took some time off work and put on here first from shore. We had planned for it to happen on the boat but Eddie jumped that idea!!!!

So I have been harassing Eddie with PM's and replies to his post that this simple plan to get out together was now going to be a Wife and Hubby Battle!!!!!!! :Romance: I was putting all my wagers on Rebecca!!!! :Guns:

I arrived at 0515 for the scheduled pickup time and we were at the Launch by 0630 and the motor was warming up soon after.

Eddie gave Rebecca a few tips while tied up and pointed out a few areas to cast to while I continued to finish with a few of the prep details before departing for the Battle.

This is when I heard a loud YES!!! from the back of the boat and saw Eddie on the bendo for what turned out to be a nice Spottie while we were still tied up!!!

This is by far the biggest smile I have seen on Eddie in all out time fishing together and I believe it has to do with getting a great start in the Battle!!!!

The tourney rules state that this is a Boat Battle and you were on an extension of the dock and we were not under way yet!!!!!!!!

So we finally get under way and leave the nice dock fishing behind and the Battle has Officially started!!!! We traveled a very short distance to the first spot I wanted to try.

Eddie was again quick to get another Spottie to come to the boat. Me Quote" Nice Spottie Eddie, but it is a short and therefor does not count!!!"

A short time later Rebecca went Bendo for a nice Spottie and went to the top of the leaderboard!!!!!

After this the Spotties decided to take the day off except for a few more shorts by Eddie and I believe 5 More Pancake Flatties!!!!!!

We worked it hard for the rest of the afternoon until it was time to get back to the ramp.

I had a great time taking Rebecca and Eddie on the the Spottie battle and I of course made sure the NPH Newbie had the best shot at the :Fishing Hole: and made the vet work hard for his unqualified fish!!!!:Neener Neener:
