Made some plans a few weeks ago with Bryan and his girlfriend to come out and fish LMV today for trout. Today was the trout tourney and we had a descent turnout this time but not so many fish caught. 20,000lbs of fish have been stocked into the lake and have to be literally forced fed to bite. The huge school of fish in one area that Glenn has been metering the last month had moved in recent weeks. Like usual the fish have been stacked in the no fishing zone known as the swimbeach area. Both Bryan and me farmed a fish each except his was on powerbait. The powermouse on a 12”-3ft leader worked to get em once you found them. The fish are not schooled up in big bunches at all. They are biting very subtle so patience is the key until the line is tight to set the hook. I’ve hooked all fish this season on the outside lip. The lifeguards were mellow which was very cool. The bite isn’t so hot so it seems they have taken a chill pill to relax. The lifeguard came by me twice today and didn’t say anything other than how you guys doing? That was really cool rather than remind me of any fishing rule. It’s a big change from the last tourney in Dec. Thanks for coming out today Bryan. I was hoping get both of you a limit of 4 trout each. We went all around the lake today in search of those Nebraska fish. Those fish have sure outsmarted everyone this season. Bryan and his girl each received a free 4 hour boat rental. I luckily got 6th place and received the last prize consisted of a plier set with 4lb Trilene fishing line. My 1 fish weiged 2.30. Here are some pics.
