Little Perch, Big Whale

[City Girl]

Today I went fishing with my friends. We saw a whale so close in we were amazed. We caught about twenty fish. My friend caught a fish for the first time ever. And for the first time I used shrimp and lug worms for bait. I was casting all by myself and I caught a fish by myself. My dad thought it was the waves messing with me but I knew it was a fish.

The last time I was at that beach a life guard asked me if I'd seen any whales in close. Evidently, folks had been reporting seeing them near shore and were concerned that they might beach themselves.

It looked to us like that whale might have been feeding. There was a rip right there which we had been fishing and after the whale left, a pod of dolphins moved in to that spot and stayed for a while too.

I am very proud of City Girl. She has become a very good fisherwoman and a helpful teacher to her friends as well!

I have fished that area many times and have NEVER seen a whale as close up as you did City Girl!

To go with it to have a whale and the dolphins do close, and to play in the sand looked like a great day at the beach with friends!!!!!!
