Decided to head out to the Lagoon for the maiden voyage for my new tube. After hours of tinkering with the rod holder I built, I was anxious to see if it would work.
I arrive at the Lagoon just before 7:00 AM, pay and head to Paridise Cove. Air temp 54*, water 50*, with a slight north to south wind. Get on the water, make a few adjustments to the inflateable seat on my tube, everything feels good, now I can concentrate on fishing.
Started off drop shotting, for the first hour for no luck. Decided to head north of tree point, where I switched between a crank bait, and a Senko, not one bite.
Around 9:45, the winds started to kick up. Hoping this would make the fish active, I decided to down size to a 4" Robo Peoples worm. I feel a slight tap tap, fish on. I landed a 2 lb lmb.
As the winds continue to blow upwards of 15 mph, I decided to stick close to shore in Paradise cove. Still drop shotting, I feel a bend in my pole, actually thought I got snagged on something, then I see my line moving, set the hook, second fish of the day. I landed a nice 3 lb'er close to the doc. I continued battling the wind for another hour for nothing. A great day on the water, always enjoy fishing the Lagoon.
Here's some pics of my new tube and the fish.
