First Successful gill hunting of the year 1.14.09

Went out today with Lizzay to hunt down some gills. went to the deepest part of the lake and let a couple crickets loose down deep and it didnt take long before we found our fist victim :LOL:




caught a couple more all in the same area and than the sun came out in full effect making it very hot to be out there so we decided to give the gills a break at around noon. here's a couple more pic:

Man guys. Nice fish That gill is a monster. True monster. One of my goals is to get a monster slab and gill to mount. A 4 pounder would be perfect. Lets get the panfish event flowing I am ready. BTW slabs are biting right now at El Capt and Otay.

I need to expand on the panfish that I have in this video. LOL. You all are giving me the urge again. Crappie is my favorite eating fresh water fish.
