View Full Version : How 'Bout a Pier in Winter?

As I've mentioned already, this is the Winter for City Girl to get her first piggy form the salt.

Lookin' at the tide charts for this weekend I can see that high tide (the smaller) is 'round two in the afternoon on Sat.

We have the morning to fish... so I'm entertaining the idea of hitting the pier at Mothers Beach. We had some luck on buttermouth, walleye, croaker there in the summer... but I have no idea how those fish move and feed in the winter.

What do you think? What's better fishing this time of year at low-tide - the beach or piers?

Appreciate any help!

I say you forget the pier and take the family to Irvine Lake Saturday for the Team 57 event. Imagine the look on the girls faces when thay hook up to those Trout.  :Big Grin:

Is that this weekend??? Hmmm. So, what's a "trout?"

We've planned this little excursion with another family...

How early would you need to be at the lake?
