No swim baits have been used there this year to my knowledge...a few bass have been caught by accident fishing for trout...so you should catch them since you are an experienced bass guy. Use a toon...you can get to some great coves with good structure!!! BUT there will be huge trout there this weekend...so if you were ever gonna do the trout thing....this is the time to catch trout bigger than some trophy bass!!! Hope this helps, Matt

The North side of the flats has great cover and structure...if I was targeting bass there, i'd be on anything that can float me that way...also a couple small coves toward the end of the West shore...but you cant get to them on foot either

The Bass are holding deep these days. Guys come and catch but are tight liped and you never see hardly a report on the bass on FNN. There is some Lunker bass in Irvine Lake :!!!: Just today I heard a story from the Irvine Lake Master Champ , ( Robert ) That he was watching a small duck or what ever water bird and a Big Bass just came up and wolfed it down to never be seen again. He said that totally triped him out.

oh theres some LMBs at the Vine for sure- Ive had my share of 3-5+lmbs there. Don't have pics on my work comp. but last year my best LMB was 5lbs at the Vine. Think Nicks was 12+lbs Call up the Vine tackle shop, some of the guys are bass'rs for sure!

good luck!

Let me help ya out >
Nick's fish went an astonding 14.4 on a digital scale. He caught fish while dropshotting in 30 ft of water with a pumpkin Berkley 4" worm. I can not say enough about this catch. To boot it was only a couple onces shy of the lake record, and only a pound and some change of an IGFA line class record (6 lb line).

Matt if I am bass fishing I would definitely speak with either Nick or Jimmy, if they are there in the morning. Good luck out there!

Rooster lest you forget that the breakfast burrito is tyically not suggested on the day of a FNN Event, as this may inhibit your ability to consume mass amounts of Wingnut Eggrolls!

See you guys at the lake,
