As promised I took my cousin & his friend out fishing. I rigged my two Ol' Bettys for them the day before and we were ready.

So yesterday the 9th of Jan. I get out to Sante Fe Dam and realized I forgot my camera.....ya thrilled.:OMG!:

My cousin and his friend wander in the park around 6:20... and the day begins.

Having them cast west of the ramp and myself in between them, we begin with the trusted Zeke's ( lime green ).

Forty or so minutes and I'm thinkin " It's foggy and not quite bright, what the heck am I thinkin " So I reeled in one of mine and applied the Pink/White & Blue PB ( Capt America ).

Cast that and reeled in the second, placed it on the chair to re-bait and ...... Booyah ! Yes " Peter Pansize " visits the " Hook Fairy ! " ( Yea I said it.. may be my created new terms... may be someone elses, I do plagerize ):Fishing Catch:

So an hour or so Pass and my cousin has been casting and reeling every 5 min. I had to pull out the " ABC's " ( Anglers Blackboard on Catching ). He understood but I can tell there was a 3 year old in that 32 year old frame that wanted to chase the ducks around the lake.:Cart:

So he goes walking off with rod in hand and I'm thinkin " Let him go he needs to find himself " Then about 10 min later I hear a high pitched shrill vibrate through the air causing birds to evacuate the area whenst it came. " I Got A Fish !!! " :Applause:

Yes the new proud father of a healthy Trou Trou my cousin comes walking it over hanging from the end of the rod. Haha I was happy for him. :Thumbs Up:

So I packed up our site and moved to where he ventured and caught one more for our team that day on Zekes ( Orange ). :Fishing Catch:

The Jist of the day was like watching Animal Planet style activities as the Comorants gobbled maybe 25 Trou Trou while we were there. :Guns:

For special consideration, I have been asked about my Ol' Bettys ( rods from the 70's High Sierra weaning ). Here They Are.... Still Alive .. Still "Catching Rods".

Nice going at the dam Dan

You like the Capt America color don't you....very patriotic looking bait, but I have never caught anything on it.

Thanks for another great report,

TD

Those True-Temper cast iron reel seats weigh like a half a ton....lol I used a lot of those back in the day. I still like to get one working and nail a fat toad on them. That would make for a more interesting fishing challenge than using a Kiddie Pole. My apologies to the NBU.
