Its hard enough to hook the damn things with a giant hook and stinger exposed. I love the concept but the hit to hook ratio will be ????

Well the main reason why fish come off is the weight of the swimbait but now that is hollow inside i would guess that its much lighter and therefore you will loose less fish.

Seeing thats its the ROF 12, and is the same size as the 6" ROF 12, I would expect to the more or less weigh same. I think this is the max sized bait you can really use this theory on. Id hate to have a full sized Hudd with a hidden hook. Useful...yes. But the hookup rate, I believe, would suffer immensely from the amount of leverage a full size bait gives the fish. I think with this 6", however, it could work great. It not like we'll have anything but juvenile trout to imitate in this state anyways if they keep limiting the stocking lol

would it hold up? I think after a couple whacks from a big bass or Striper and it's over.

Hopefully. Remember with the standard Hudd the pressure from the jig hook or trailer hooks when you hook a fish are the main cause of tear. I think if you have Mend It any problems should be solvable. Unless the head tears and the harness system falls out. We'll see...
