Sorry, no pics... just a short report.
Stopped by Oceanside Pier after a long day of Buffalo Brothers and Carlsbad Premium Outlets with the gf.
Got there around 6:30ish and stayed for a couple hours. Not a whole lot of action. I was targeting BSPs but didn't have the right setup (hooks were too big). I threw out some Gulp Sandworms and the action was nonexistent at first. All of the sudden this guy further up pulls up a smallish BSP. Then all of his amigos head over to the same spot and throw their lines out. They're pulling in BSPs every now and then but nothing too crazy. I started getting a ton of bites but I think they were smaller BSPs and the hooks were just too big. Ugh... I need to keep an 'emergency' kit in my car from now on.
Anyway, I could feel the fish holding onto the bait on several occasions, but no hooksets.
It was freezing, so I just decided to pack up and head out. It was at least exciting to see the rod tip flutter and to get a line into the water.
