I know its winter time folks and trout and stripers is the main key, but this is the time to go after giant cats as well. You will find that the winter time will produce your biggest catches for the most part. During this time is when I like to use my big pieces. So I put together an instructional slide to help guide everyone through what needs to be done to help you get that big catch. You can also apply this during the spring, summer, and fall. I also added the basic cured liver production. Hope you find it helpful.

Thanks everyone. Yes it did take some time but that is what I am all about, educating the masses. I will be doing quite a bit of seminars as time permits in the upcoming months so I will share them with my fnn family as well.

Yes I will cover slip bobbers in the futures as well as well as a lot of other tactics like. I will mix them up as a slide and live feed so it will be cool. Will start on those in a few months.

LOl. Yeah I put the jig stick to em sometimes but that was mainly for casting distance at that spot. I could whale that bait wayyy out there. Mainly I stick to my ugly stick and abu garcia. But sometimes the yellowtail gear will come out. LOL.

Thanks. Actually the hardest part of doing this was finding the right kind of music to go with the presentation. I had to play around with many tracks to find one that actually fit or sounded right. I will likely be faced with the same problems in the future. LOL.

Thanks fellas.

I feel you on the wind. I will fish in the rain anytime, but the wind is a no go for me. LOl.

Sesgia Catmando bait is good it is always good to use some attractant especially when the bite is low. I would be hard pressed to say I have not used it and caught plenty of cats on it. The last trip was during the rain I had a wide open bite on it thanks to the bag he gave me.

Went to Puddingstone just after the last rains, just to watch and learn from those fishing.
>>No license<< Just amased at the cats with swollen bellies gourging themselves at the inlet.

liked the video, I don't do much fishing for cats, but when I have I noticed the chicken livers are pretty fragile and tend to fall off the treble hook pretty easily on the cast, what can i do to resolve this?

bluehunter

Thanks everybody. More to come soon.

Jim the basis for curing the liver is to toughen them up. You will find they will stay on the hook better due to the salt drying it up as you bake it making them stick better to the hook. Other ways is to use a string to tie around the liver if you prefer to use fresh. I use both. I plan to fish the clear lake derby this year and I will have an arsenal of cured and fresh liver to throw at the fat channels as well as other baits.

A trick I use with chicken livers: Use spawn sack netting and magic string. See how at www.lakemichiganangler.com/tips/salmon_eggs/making_spawn_sacks.htm. Just substitute chicken liver for eggs. Works great! After "liver sacks" are tied, thread a single hook through the sack and liver.
