I havent fished the surf in many months. I'm gonna try to get out more this year.
So I went to the dockwiggles with my bud Odog. Got there about 8:30ish to the low tide.

Started walking south, throwing the jerkbait. No love so switched to my dropshot rod.
Nothing on the zooms. Finally arrived at the jetty in front of the chevron plant.
Started getting some taps then a few hookups on the perch.

I had to get back home so started walking back, not really fishing along the way.
I thought to myself hmm this looks real fishy. I threw the river2sea and reeled in a few cranks.
Bit instantly. Not much line peeling off but a lil fight. Felt good to land it on my new setup, Powell Max rod with a Daiwa coastal.

Didnt bother measuring it but I think it was about 19".

Nice work Juan. So tell me about the Powell, which one did you get?

I surf fished with a buddy who was here visiting for about an hour the
day after christmas. I did manage a 16 incher on the drop shot.
