I had the pleasure of hosting the sons Anthony and Aaron of my fishing buddy Eddie today on my ride in NPH.

We met up at 0600 at their place and the boys quickly settled into the unfamiliar truck and proceeded to get a nap in as they were tough to get to sleep according to Eddie with the excitement of finally fishing in the harbor.

We arrived at 0700 sharp to 200 foot visibility due to the fog that was not supposed to be there until New Years Day but we just leisurly put the boat in the water and after the warm up slowly proceeded on out way as it cleared a litte.

The boys settled in again on the boat and took another nap as we approached the PCH bridge.

Eddie asked me to stop at the bridge on a hunch and picked up a 3 quick ones a Sandie and 2 Spotties. We then headed to one of my spots and Eddie picked up a close Flattie that got the attention of the boys and the real fun began.

Anthony was busy throwing the plastics at the back of the boat but Aaron was more interested in helping me drive with the Trolling motor. Kind of interesting with me working the direction and him pushing the power button with his hand. It took a few close encounters with the docks to get the rythem down. Sorry guys on the back of the boat.

So the boys were now into it and the fish did not want to cooperate. We continued to work it and finally put the lil guys on some action. Although it was some slow Winter Fishing we put some smiles on there faces as well as ours.

The Photos were a comedy session!!

"Quote" Dad coaching the boys!!

Don't look at the fish, look at the camera.

Here are a few pics of the action.

Steve;

That report was priceless. There is nothing like the time a Dad or role model can spend with thier boys on the water. Its awesome to see the kids hook up and light up with huge smiles.

My son is eleven and the countless days we have spent together on the water will last in our memories forever. Youre a good role model and an excellent person for getting our future anglers out and teaching them the lessons that could only be taught from a special day like today!

Thanks for the fine report!

Later; Big Ed!

Great job out there guys. Nice to see the little ones on all those fish.

My son tried to assasinate me with his Nerf gun when we got back from fish with Steve, claiming I caught all his fish. :Rolls Eyes:
