So this is my first post to Fishingnetwork. I have been reading the meesage boards for a few months now and figure I should start contributing. Launched the yak by the malibu pier and covered a few miles of the beautiful malibu coastline. Started working the kelp patties and pulled out 6 calicos, all released. I tried for some flatties in the shallower water, but no such luck. The weather was amazing, felt like summer. Completely calm, no wind.

Saw some garibaldis around. The water was so clear.

Nice first post on the forum, way to make an entrance with a nice batch of calicos:Thumbs Up:...thats crazy being in 50ish feet of water and can see straight to the bottom, reminds me of the keys...very:Cool:. Thanks for the report and pix!

Beatiful day to be out on the water! WTG with the plastics. I frequently use that particular one. Definetly a calico catcher. Super job!!

Ever try salt and pepper or black with silver flake grub with a darter head?? Good stuff!
