corona lake 12/27

so my brother in law and father in law went to corona this morning in hopes of some tail walkers and some bass...(i really wanted the bass) any way we woke up at 5 and headed out on the road.. our first stop was jack in the crack

after that we headed straight to the gates only to see this....

we thought we were getting there earily but i guess everyone else got there at 4 haha..
once we got in the gate we hurried and ran to get a pontoon before they were all gone... good thing we did! heres a picture right before we set sail..had to get the punker in the pic haha

heres abother view of the south side of the lake... there were tons of boats on the water today! couldnt troll to much..

so through out the day we trolled all kinds of trout spinners and stuff for no love... we would spot here and there and toss some bass baits... i was tossin the lunker punker and the hudd... didnt get a chance to toss the bbz or the ac minnow... heres a pic on the troll

just another pic of the lake... we saw a lot of fish being pulled out of the water but for some reason it was real hard for us this time... so we gave in and went to the tackle store and got some powerbait and treble hooks... and bait and waited for a long time and nothing was happing... we decided to call it a day and i started to reel in my power baited line and all of a sudden ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..................ZZZZZZZzz zzzzzzzzzzz.. haha power bait got slammed on the retrive! the fish fought pretty good.. pulled a lot of drag and was a lil tuff gettin him on the boat for his size... well anyway here the picture

Yep, it's winter! :LOL:
Nice menu shot! Made me hungry dangit.

I think the news said last night was one of the coldest of the winter so far. Might have turned the bass off some or forced them deep.

haha thanks dude! ya the bass went deeper i think... i did get hit pretty good on a T rig but missed the hook set.. might of been a crappie

I can see that Corona's fleet of pontoons are still awaiting their new paint jobs.

thanks guys! O_L we ended up just buying a bunch of tacos lol and TB cool that you were our there to! were you on shore? that day was weird seemed like everyone was catching except us... saw a guy with a trout that was well over 5lbs!

That picture of you holding the trout I am guessing was taken after 1pm cause we were right in "the spot" there behind you all morning until then. There was a triangle of boats just to the north of us that were catching fish all day long, Bah.

nice report matt, man that was just one of those days. seems like every time we finally get my pops out there it slows down. we just got to keep him going consistently then he'll get on some fish.
