Well, I haven't been posting lately due to school and no reports because of no camera, but since Santa brought me a new camera, I'll see if I still remember how to do this.

Originally, I planned to hit up the Narrows at opening. But, I was up 'till 3 so no go on that. Instead, I got there around 10 or so. I set up one pole with Rainbow Powerbait and the other with my favorite: a dropshot with an orange powerworm. Within a few casts I had one on. I c&r'd that one because it was a little small.

After releasing that one, I hooked up with another about 10 minutes later. I released that one too because of size and no picture. I did a quick release in the water. So time goes by and nothing for a while. I'm working the powerworm and the powerbait is just sitting. The next fish I caught was a keeper.

From the time I caught my first keeper to the time I caught my 2nd keeper I lost at least 4 fish. For some reason they kept lettin' go as soon as they would see me.

When I hooked up on my second fish, things were starting to heat up. The second was about the same as the first, but they were at least 2 1/2 lb fish. As I'm getting ready to throw out the powerworm and work it again, I see my other line go slack, then take off. Fish on!!! I pulled her in and she was a beauty. She looked just like a Silverwood holdover. The picture doesn't show it real well, but she was very dark. So I rebaited that pole and threw it out. Right as I'm about to throw the other pole with a powerworm, the bait pole goes crazy! Another fish on!! Two nice size fish within 10 minutes!

After everything calms down, I rebait my bait pole, toss it out, and start working the powerworm again. I make one last cast before I'm ready to change lures. BAM!!! And Zzzzzzzzzz!!! Another fish on!!! It fought hard! It took me a few minutes before I could get a good glimpse of it. When I did, I was stoked! The thing was the biggest trout I had ever hooked! Right as I'm ready to net it, the fish would take a good run. We did this for at least 6 minutes before I pulled the beast in! It was my PB at 8lbs!!!

In the end, I limited out with almost 20 lbs of fish. The biggest three fish were caught on a dropshot orange powerworm while the rest were caught on Rainbow powerbait.

Here are some pre-fillet shots and some pics of the lake.

NIce catch young man!

Stopped by this morning to look around. Walked around Pelican about 11:30. Saw 4 fish on stringers...nothing of size. Whatever went off yesterday so far hasn't happened today. 40 people or so fishing. Beautiful weather..still a glorious day.
