HESBROS

Steve's buddy Tim (FishNff) was down from WA for Holidays and Steve and I had already talked about getting him out on the water while he was down. We made some quick plans on Christmas Day to head out Friday afternoon with a crew of Steve, Tim and Steve's son Brad in addition to the two Hesbros. We arrived at Davies in Alamitos Bay at about 1430 to a 10-15 MPH NW wind, just as predicted. We went ahead and launched anyways with hopes that the wind would lay down in the evening. We headed over to Nacho's and got a very generous 1/2 scoop of dine for future hoop bait, and maybe some fishing before sundown. We tried anchoring up on some structure out in the harbor but could not get a good set due to the wind, so we went and hid behind one of the oil islands while we got the hoops ready and Tim and Brad got to do some fishing.
Here is a lil Barry that Tim got on a Swimbait.

The wind was not letting up and at time there were gust's over 20, but we were determined and conditions had not reached an unsafe level inside the harbor. I am sure it was nasty as heck on the outside. We dropped the hoops at about 1645 on the spot and Tim pulled his first ever set of hoop nets for lobster at 1800. Tim did a great job and picked up the routine in no time as if he had been doing it for years. The first set had 5 legals and no shorts. We reset the hoops and did some fishing in between.
Here is Steve and Brad fighting for the corner as if we were in a tuna bite. (J/K guys) Boy can you tell they are father and son out there! (Not J/K LOL)

Steve has mpre pics that I am sure he will post of the fishing, we did ok on Sandies and a nice sculpin.
The wind clocked around to North and then Northeast as night went on and slowed doen a bit. After the first set it seemed either the crawl had stopped or we were just missing them. we were getting a legal and shorts here and there. I think we did 6 more sets for some shorts and 2 more legals for one limit and called it a night around midnight with 7.
Tim pulled every set so it was easily decided by all on board that Tim would take home his first limit of Lobster.
Here is Tim with a couple nice ones.

Steve, thanks for the great company as usual and working the deck.
Brad, your "guns" can't get bigger from inside the nice and warm cabin!
Tim, very nice to meet you finally (I know we actually met before) and it was great having you on board, you did a great job, you are welcome to come fish with us any time you are down this way!
